I am always amazed by how much power there is in vision. One of my favorite biblical scriptures that guides me when I create my annual vision map is Habakkuk Chapter 2 verse 2-3. For me envisioning my life and achieving the things I want is not just having a vision in mind but actually writing, drawing or creating what you envision in life on paper and watching God make it happen! This past week I hosted a live instagram session on creating vision boards. Here are a few things I took away from the session: 1. Most people have their vision in their head There is nothing wrong with having your vision in your head of what you want to manifest in your life. But in all seriousness writing or creating a visual map of your vision has tremendous power. I think it has something to do with being accountable to yourself, seeing these goals everyday and not hiding them away somewhere in the back of your mind. 2. Most people do write down their visions but as goals Yes it is important to write down your vision as goals, but take it a step further! Get creative! A few years ago I wrote a post on how to actually create a vision board and it helped so many young women visualize their vision boards. I encourage you to take your goals a step further by creating a visual representation of those goals. See more here womenchangeafrica.blogspot.com/2013/11/cultivating-women-you-are-invited-to.html 3. Most people get overwhelmed with their goals and when it comes to execution et paralysis It's true once you put down your goals, at times they may seem overwhelming. What is most important is to keep it minimalist. Pick no more than 10 key things you want to accomplish for that year and commit to that. Chunk out your goals into smaller steps and this will make it more attainable.
