There are times, when we experience doubt in our minds or get anxiety around the things that we want to see happen. We worry or we may even doubt that those things can come to pass. I was sharing with a friend a few weeks ago about the importance of honoring our journeys and not comparing our lives to others. In this digital world we live in, it is very easy for one to compare your life to someone else. The moment one sees an accomplishment of another person, wondering why you didn't get those accomplishments. This can lead to so much stress and unnecessary anxiety. Those conversations make me appreciate so much of how far I have come with my work with women and girls and I reflect on the key components of my journey that I don't take for granted. The three main things that keep me grounded and focused on my own life are faith, gratitude and grace. I think of these three things especially during the dark times of my life and I do my best to apply them:
Faith: I am slowly learning that faith is the seed that we have to plant in order fer for things to manifest for God's purpose in our lives. There are many times things may seem as if they are taking too long to happen in my work, business or personal life and I use my faith as a christian and pray through my worries. I have learnt to surrender things though this has been a constant struggle in my faith walk. Gratitude: Having a practice of thanksgiving has changed the way I look at things especially when I am going through a challenging time. I find it so exhilarating when I am able to write down all the things I am thankful for. Grace: Grace is the covering that keeps us there once we receive those blessings. Grace is unmerited favor that is bestowed upon our lives, it doesn't require anything but simply being children of God. This month, my message to you is honor your journey, keep the faith, practice gratitude and appreciate the grace upon your life.

1. Your purpose can serve as a means for you to touch other lives.
Purpose is about service. The more we serve the more we get closer to knowing what our purpose is and what God has created us to do. When we ultimately discover our true purpose, it helps us change the lives of others. Service is the ultimate calling, in business, career or anything we do the highest form of leadership is being able to make the lives of other people better than how we met them. 2. It can save you a lot of time and resources. Keying into who we are and who we are called to be can save us going to the wrong universities, getting the wrong jobs etc. If you know for example that you are called to encourage others, and inspire others it may in fact inform the platform or the career path that you take to move forward. I have seen many people myself included believing I was called to be one thing and half way throughly studies changing my mind because it didn't feel that it brought me joy. What brings me joy is helping to build communities and resources for women and girls to thrive and find their own purpose in life. 3. It can point you to what you need to be doing in life Being able to sit quietly and think of what it is that people come to you for, what others value you for can help you get closer to figuring out your true purpose. Once you figure out your purpose it can direct you towards what you need to be doing in life. Knowing one's purpose can direct you to the right career, business etc. What is your purpose? I encourage to pray, seek and find the right answers in discovering just that. |
